This is my partner’s Elantra Limited that we bought a couple weeks ago. Before that, my parents bought a white 2018 Elantra SE. Yesterday, his parents bought a Maserati Quattropo... I’m just kidding, they bought a dark grey Elantra SEL.
Grey sounds blah but it’s actually a pretty color. They traded in my father-in-law’s PT Cruiser, thank God. My mother-in-law drives a Suzuki SX4, which she bought because my partner had one and she liked it.
Also yesterday I got to drive my new Ram ProMaster from work for the first time. Why, yes, it IS broken already! It’s minor, fortunately. The mechanism that holds the sliding door open is supposed to release when you pull the handle, but something in it broke and now I have to reach down to force the little plastic hook back in order to close the door. It’s probably an easy fix, but disappointing.

Well... they’re basically Korean Corollas.

Agreed. I think they’re better quality than the Corolla now. The difference between this 2018 and his previous 2016 Elantra GT is huge, and that wasn’t even a bad car.

The funny thing is, around here Hyundais actually cost more than Toyotas here these days. I was shocked when I heard a friend of mine’s parents paid almost $30k for a loaded Elantra Limited a while back.

I have an Elantra sport and let me just say that it is a very underrated car 1.6 turbo 6 speed? For under 20,000 with touch screen Android auto and leather it’s honestly a steal.

I had to look this up myself, but in Canada the 2018 Elantra Limited is at $27,099 and the 2018 Corolla XSE is at$25,970.
I haven’t driven either car, but I suppose with Hyundai you get a longer warranty and generally better financing offers. I see 0% offers on Hyundais all the time but not on Hondas or Toyotas (since they really don’t seem to need to do this to move vehicles anyway).

They over-paid for it. I can sell them the same car for about $25k.
